I became largely inspired by zines, which often have a handmade feel, and are largely expressive and experimental. They have a do-it-yourself philosophy, something anyone can do, and often carry personal stories or statements. Their short nature makes them easily engaging. Embracing the wide zine world, I explored a range of different techniques and mediums I hadn’t worked with before. 

I played with gouache paints to see what kind of effect this would have.

My initial hunch was to create a website similar to many successful blogs I’ve seen.
